North Polk defeated Wayne by a 46-36 score, Moravia/Twin Cedars in a 69-6 rout and the Pleasantville JV by a 63-18 margin. The Comets' two losses were to Pleasantville by a 52-25 decision and the Dowling Catholic JV in a 42-29 battle.
Jimmie Schuessler and Jordan Ihle both went undefeated for North Polk at the tournament.
Schuessler toppled Pleasantville's Wesley Prill by an 11-3 major decision, pinned Pleasantville JV's Greer Milledge and he stuck Dowling Catholic JV's Noel Bartusek while also picking up two forfeits at 130 pounds. Ihle competed at 112 and he recorded three pins and picked up a pair of forfeits.
Noah Pickard just missed going unbeaten for North Polk at 152. Pickard picked up two pins, a victory by decision and a forfeit in his first four matches before suffering a hard-fought 9-7 loss to Dowling Catholic JV's Stephen Graham in his final match.
Kyle Sutton also came close to going unbeaten for North Polk as he went 4-1 at 103. He received three forfeits and pinned Moravia/Twin Cedar's Dakota Housley before suffering a 7-4 loss to Dowling Catholic JV's Esteffan Herrera.
Wes Rockwood, Alex Bayse and Jared Sunken also posted 4-1 records for the Comets.
Rockwood competed at 125 and he delivered two pins and received a pair of forfeit victories on the day. Bayse wrestled at 145 and he earned one pin, one major decision, one victory by decision and a forfeit while Sunken earned two pins, a major decision and a forfeit at 171.

ALLEMAN - North Polk split duals with South Hamilton and Van Meter at a triangular meet in Alleman Jan. 29.
The Comets fell to Heart of Iowa Conference rival South Hamilton by a 39-31 score and then whipped Van Meter by a 78-3 score in the final dual of the meet.
In the loss to South Hamilton, North Polk received two pins, a forfeit, one major decision and three victories by decision.
Kyle Sutton and Alex Bayse picked up the pins at 103 and 145 pounds respectively, Jimmie Schuessler received the forfeit at 130 and Tyler Hammond gave North Polk a 13-1 major decision victory over the Hawks' Chris Jacobson at 119. Jordan Ihle won a 4-2 battle with South Hamilton's Ean Houck at 112, Wes Rockwood picked up a 7-4 victory over Lucas Huisman at 125 and Cody White earned a 6-0 win over the Hawks' Casey Coy at 135 for North Polk.
North Polk didn't have many chances to wrestle against a first-year Van Meter program as the Comets picked up a whopping 11 forfeits in the dual. Rockwood and White earned victories on the mat for North Polk as Rockwood pinned Van Meter's Dalton Bright in 58 seconds at 125 and White stuck the Bulldogs' Devon Clycord in 2:32 at 135.

GILBERT - North Polk suffered a pair of Heart of Iowa Conference losses against Woodward-Granger and Gilbert in a triangular dual Jan. 27 at Gilbert.
The Comets were handed a 47-36 setback at the hands of Woodward-Granger and a 54-27 loss by Gilbert.
In its meet with Woodward-Granger, North Polk dominated the light weight classes, but the Comets were unable to get much going in the middle and upper classes. Kyle Sutton (103 pounds), Jordan Ihle (112) and Jimmie Schuessler (130) each picked up a pin for the Comets while Tyler Hammond received a forfeit at 119.
Noah Pickard and Nikko Burg gave North Polk a pair of victories in the middle-weight class. Pickard pinned Woodward-Granger's Tom McVey at 152 and Burg stuck the Hawks' Connor Roth at 160.
North Polk had another good showing in the light classes in its loss to Gilbert. Sutton and Ihle each picked up a pin and Schuessler added another fall after moving up to 135 while Wes Rockwood picked up a forfeit at 130.
The Comets' only other victory against Gilbert was a 4-3 victory by Pickard over Nick Lamkey at 152.
