Mike Molle of Glidden raced to the IMCA Modified victory Saturday night at Boone Speedway during a quickly-run program that saw 135 race cars take part in the five-class program.
Because of threatening weather - and a few sprinkles during the later heat races - the program was completed without delay and Molle was able to take his first win of the season ahead of Scranton's Rod Scheuermann and Perry's Jake Durbin with defending track champion Todd Shute (Des Moines) and Ricky Stephan (South Sioux City, Neb.) rounding out the top five.
Meanwhile, Luke Wanninger of Jefferson, the defending Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods track champion, picked up his first victory of the season in that division, beating Scott Davis (Boone), Kevin Sather (Ankeny), Paul Nagle (Nevada) and David Schlicht (Adel) to the stripe.
Gifford won a race-long battle with a handful of cars to win the IMCA Stock Car feature race. Two of the racing Smith brothers from Lake City - Donavon and Dustin - finished in the next two spots, while Brian Efkamp of Perry and Bill Reetz of Carroll completed the top five.
The two hobby stock feature races were won by Beau Kaplan of Ankeny and Cody Gustoff of Scranton, while the dwarf car feature went to Boone's Mike Kennedy.
