Oct. 10: Beverly Hill told police a purse and cell phone were missing from her apartment in the 400 block of East Seventh Street. She said she heard noises around 8 a.m. but didn't see anyone in the apartment.
Oct. 10: Allison Retz told police her car was vandalized sometime the previous night while it was parked in a lot in the 400 block of East Seventh Street.
Oct. 10: Stan Lassegard informed police that some juveniles near his home have been climbing his fence, standing on his shed and jumping off the garage at his home in the 1000 block of Johnson Street.
Oct. 10: Phyllis Fields reported someone broke into her apartment in the 1000 block of 26th Street.
Oct. 10: Art Weeks, Ames Public Library, reported the theft of several magazines from the premises and informed police that they have a suspect.
Oct. 10: Two officers responded to a motorist's report that a silver truck was driving in the median and into oncoming traffic at mile marker 148 along U.S. Highway 30. Police were unable to locate the truck.
Oct. 10: Police were called to the Hy-Vee Lincoln Center store on a shoplifting report. A suspect was in custody.
Oct. 10: The Earl May Garden Center, 1601 S. Kellogg Ave., Ames, reported people in a truck had stolen some pumpkins. A license plate number and description of the vehicle were given to police.
Oct. 10: A anonymous caller who lives in the 200 block of Southeast Second Street complained that a neighbor had come to his home with her dogs and had threatened to kill his dogs.
Oct. 10: An anonymous caller told police he had seen a man steal a license plate off a car in the 300 block of Franklin Avenue in campustown.
Oct. 11: Two officers were dispatched to a report that three males were breaking windows in the 200 block of Stanton Avenue. There were no arrests.
Oct. 11: Three officers responded to a report of an open door at Bridges Chiroprqactic, 319 Lincoln Way, Ames, and that a dog was locked inside a car outside the building.
Oct. 11: A caller reported an assault had taken place in an apartment in the 800 block of 24th Street, Ames, and that three men were involved. No one was around when police arrived.
Oct. 11: An anonymnous caller said thieves had stolen unnamed items from his car while it was parked in the 200 block of Campus Avenue.
Oct. 11: An anonymous caller reported "a group of guys looking for a fight" at Es Tas on Stanton, 216 Stanton Ave. There were no arrests.
