Cancer fighters in Story County will take time during the fourth annual 5K For Life on Saturday, Aug. 23, to fight back against cancer.
The 5K will be held at Brookside Park in Ames, and will begin at 8 a.m. with a special survivors ceremony. The ceremony will focus on local cancer survivors who have beat this disease. Runners and walkers will begin at 8:25, and will follow a 3.2 mile path along Brookside Park.
Tribute flags are available for purchase, and will line the course, in honor of or in memory of someone who has battled this disease. Teams of four to five runners/walkers are still needed, and individuals are welcome as well.
