Boone Police Arrests
Lisa L. Laube , 38, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated-second offense, and open container.
Blake J. Moore, 17, was charged with theft in the fifth degree and possession of alcohol due to a theft from the North Kum & Go store.
Charged with possession of alcohol under the legal age were Jayson D. Pendarvis, 17, 914 17th St.; Dustin C. Pendarvis, 16, 914 17th St.; and Jacob L. Wirtz, 17, 1400 120th St., all of Boone.
Jennifer W. Cunningham, 27, 1104 Eighth St. Apt. 401, was arrested on a Boone County warrant for theft in the fifth degree.
A car break-in was reported in the 800 block of Keeler Street. Arrested and charged with burglary in the third degree, and possession of burglary tools, were Cullum J. Corpron, 18, 1223 Boone St., and William S. Coates, 30, 813 1/2 Story St.
Anthony L. Godwin, 30, of 1337 198th Road, was arrested and charged with public intoxication.
Kent C. Low, 46, 1127 1/2 Benton St. in Boone and 1745 Maple Street, Des Moines, was arrested on a Polk County warrant for parole violation, a Story County warrant for failure to pay in reference to driving while barred, operating while intoxicated and interference with official acts, and a Warren County warrant for failure to appear for a probation hearing.
The police department received a call from a subject in the 1200 block of 15th Street that his pickup had been stolen. Brian J. Streiff, 23, Jefferson, was arrested and charged with theft in the second degree and a Greene County warrant.
Boone Police Report
A resident in the 1500 block of Story Street reported flower pots were removed from their property and broken in the streets. The incident likely occurred during the July Fourth fireworks display.
Elenor Garcia,1023 Division St., reported someone entered her home and removed some blank checks.
Wade Hinerks, 1915 Carroll St., reported that his vehicle had been vandalized while it was parked in the downtown area.
Cory Williams, 1902 Boone St., reported vandalism to lawn ornaments and his fence.
Rebekah White, 203 Greene St., reported someone had egged her vehicle.
Nicole Uthe, 1821 Boone St., reported the theft of emblems from her vehicle.
A bicycle was reported stolen from the 500 block of Seventh Street.
A bicycle was reported stolen from 1502 Crawford Street.
A resident in the 1600 block of Tama Street reported the theft of a stereo from a vehicle.
A resident in the 1600 block of Marshall Street reported vandalism to flower beds.
Boone County Sheriff's Report
A vehicle was found in the water near the Wagon Wheel bridge. The registered owner lived in Webster County. The Webster County Sheriff's Department notified the owner to remove the vehicle before it became totally submerged. The owner arrived to remove it on Thursday afternoon, but by then the vehicle was a total loss.
Deputy Moreland went to Ledges State Park on a complaint of a possible domestic situation taking place at the park. Parties involved were found and spoke to about the incident. After a verbal altercation, the parties split for the evening and no arrests were made.
Deputy Kendall began an investigation of a dog that had bitten a patient who was at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. The dog bite took place at 2276 320th St., near Madrid. The dog was reported at large and the owner want it put down. The Humane Society is looking for the dog.
Deputy Hurley began an investigation of a theft from a barn belonging to George Eckstein of Boone, which took place in the 600 block of Nature Road. Taken were about $230 worth of tools.
Deputy Kendall answered a complaint of four-wheelers driving around Main Street in Pilot Mound. The vehicles were found by Kendall. Nicole Patten, 21, Boone, Eric Davis, 22, Pilot Mound were both charged with operating without registration. Brian Williams, 15, was cited for driving while license revoked.
Deputy Kendall went to Boxholm to clean up an area of empty psuedofedhrine containers.
Deputy Dominick arrested Leanna Haidsiak, 26, Boone, on a Boone County warrant for probation revocation, with bond at $5,000. The arrest was made in the 200 block of Marion Street in Boone.
Deputy Pontius responded to the Ledges State Park on a complaint of individuals smoking marijuana. Three males were found and charges are pending against the individuals.
Deputy Mardesen responded to a complaint of a semitrailer truck in the ditch in the 700 block of L Avenue. The driver, Gary Warran, 46, Boone, was not injured when he put his semi into the ditch and struck a utility pole. Midland Power was called to assist with getting lines out of the way for safety and restore power to the area.
A complaint came in about a person driving while license was revoked. That person, Charles Tilley, 60, of Boone, was arrested for driving while license suspended.
Deputy Moore responded to the Luther area to assist on an ambulance call concerning someone who had overdosed with pills. The person was taken to Boone County Hospital for treatment.
Deputy Dominick responded to a complaint from AB Salvage that a refrigerator, an air conditioner and three tires had been dumped at the entrance to the business.
Deputy Dominick responded to the Boys' and Girls' Home, Ames, on a complaint that a female had run away from the facility. The deputy located the girl in a field en route to the facility. She was taken into custody and transported to Ames Rosedale Shelter.
Deputy Dominick responded to a complaint of the theft of a bicycle and scanner from a residence in the 900 blockof McCaw Lane, Boone.
The office staff received a complaint that a 1986 silver Chrysler was seen in the area of Tilley's Hole near Fraser. People in the vehicle were seen shooting an air gun from the vehicle. The vehicle was found in Boone by Deputy Hikiji . A BB gun was taken from the three individuals in the vehicle. No charges at this time.
Deputy Dominick observed a vehicle driving fast on Highway 30 and knew the driver had his license suspended. The vehicle was stopped at Highway 30 and 160 south of Ogden. The driver, Jay D. Orsack, 35, Boone, ray away from the deputies, but was caught and taken into custoy. He was charged with possession of precursors lithium and pseudo ephedrine and also possession of methamphetamine and interference with official acts. He was also charged with driving while license suspended, open container of alcohol and speeding. Orsack was injured during the foot case and scuffle with Deputy Dominick. He is being held at the Boone County Hospital and is being treated for broken ribs. The investigation is continuing.
.Deputy Hurley found an open gate at the Heartland Ag Supply in West Ames. The key holder was notified and all checked out OK.
Jennifer Reutter, 26, Pilot Mound, lost control of her vehicle and struck a utility pole in the 900 block of 130th St. Reutter had received a minor injury, but refused treatment. Damages were estimated at $6,000 to her 1995 Ford. Alliant Energy was called for repairs.
In a single vehicle accident 5 miles northwest of Boone in the 500 block of Kale Road, Selena R. Ulrick, 17, of Boone was southbound when she lost control and went into the ditch, causing $5,400 in damages to her 1995 Pontiac. No injuries were reported and Ulrick was cited for failure to maintain control.
Adam Shepard, 17, Ogden, was traveling in the 600 block of 210th Street when he lost control of his vehicle. Shepard and a passenger in the vehicle, Blake Phipps, 17, Boone, were taken to Boone County Hospital for treatment of injuries suffered in the accident. Damages to a 1998 Dodge Dakota pickup driven by Shepard were estimated at $9,000.
Vehicles driven by Nathan R. Alexander, 16, Boone, and Kenneth C. Carstensen, 72, Boone, collided at the intersection of Linn Street and 12th Street. There was $1,000 in damages to Alexander's vehicle and $4,000 in damages to Carstensen's vehicle. No citations were reported.
A motorcycle driven by Ryan Michael Nelson, 20, Boone, struck a parked car owned by David Duncan, Boone, on Boone Street near the 12th Street intersection. Nelson was taken by amulance to Boone County Hospital for treatment of injuries and then taken by helicopter to Des Moines. No citations were issued, according to the accident report.
Kaitlan R. Habrich, 9, was riding her bicycle out of an alley when she biked into the path of a vehicle driven on Eighth Street, near Cedar Street, by Kena Lea Yeggy of Ogden. The van, owned by Armadillo Ex;press, never made contact with Habrich. She sustained minor cuts and released to the care of her father. No citations were issued and there were no damages to the bicycle or to the van.
