ALGONA --Are your photos piling up in boxes? Are you falling behind in scrapbooking? Are those digital photos stuck on the computer, never getting printed?
Mary Schaaf has the answer to those questions while also helping family historians preserve the past for future generations with a unique service called Fotomotion.
Fotomotion will take ordinary photographs and digital pictures and turn them into a montage show complete with motion, captions and transitions, all coordinated to the client's favorite music and stored on a DVD.
"I use an award winning design program and professional creativity to bring the photos to life," explained Schaaf. "I can scan or upload photos, retouch or repair damaged photos and turn those special snapshots into an engaging story."
The show is saved as a DVD movie and can be played on computers or DVD players, making it easy to share with family and friends. The keepsake comes with a specially designed DVD insert, case and label as well as a digital backup of all photos.
Schaaf has been a graphic design professional for 13 years, working as a graphic designer at several design firms in Chicago, Ill., before moving to Algona six years ago.
Schaaf has worked with a wide variety of clients, from the United States Postal Service, Frito-Lay, Dairy Queen, YMCA, KCEDC and the Hydrogen Engine Center. Schaaf specializes in logo design, brochures, annual reports, corporate identities and advertising.
"Fotomotion is a perfect fit with what I offer," stated Schaaf.
Schaaf will have a booth at the Bridal and Prom show on Sunday, Jan. 14, at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Algona. For more information, contact 1-515-295-4213 or email fotomotiondvd@hotmail.com
